The Nysa Therapy Story

Steve Diggs struggled most of his life with a severe personality disorder.

He found that even with a PhD in psychology he was unable to manage his self-destructive thoughts and behaviors. After seeking help from a number of qualified professionals, and making little to no progress, he set out to uncover a process that could successfully treat these disorders in his patients and himself

Studying great theoreticians of psychology – such as Freud, Jung, Rogers, Erickson, Beck, Satir, DeShazer, Millon, Moreno, and Masterson – Dr. Diggs put their ideas together and discovered new ways to imagine personality disorders and devise unique interventions to bring about real, significant, and permanent change.

The Nysa Method integrates techniques from various therapy models including solution-focused, psychodrama, psychoanalytic, client-centered, feminist therapies, and more. By combining these approaches, Dr. Diggs learned to enact specific wellness exceptions within the therapeutic relationship that simultaneously deconstructed defensive structures and manifested self-sustaining individuation experiences. In short, he got out of his head and into his heart, where the real healing happens.

The uniquely-integrated “feeling type” treatment that developed from this journey ultimately healed Dr. Diggs.  Since then, it has been highly-effective for helping hundreds of other patients, most of whom have been healed.

With a commitment to sharing his life-changing techniques with the world, Dr. Diggs has gone on to train many therapists in the Nysa Method through in-person workshops, consultations, and Zoom lectures. internships.

In 2023, Dr. Diggs launched an on-line learning course that expanded the availability of his training to the global therapeutic community.

Beginning with an extensive course on how to effectively heal the infamously challenging Borderline Personality Disorder, the Nysa on-line learning course will eventually expand to include treatment for all twelve major personality disorders.
